Gabriel is a PhD researcher at the University of Limerick, where he works on WAVE, a low-code/no-code orchestration platform, under Prof. Tiziana Margaria. That research background feeds directly into his engineering work: he thinks about workflow automation and system security from first principles, not just from a tooling perspective, and is currently exploring the use of formal methods to verify security properties in distributed systems.

He is also a platform engineer and systems architect with a CKA, Google Professional Cloud Architect certification, and many other industry-recognised professional certifications in cybersecurity and cloud engineering. He works across Kubernetes (k3s, MicroK8s), Docker, Proxmox, and container orchestration, and has hands-on infrastructure experience that runs from DevOps work through to virtualization migrations and storage design.

When applicable, Gabriel teaches at UL and co-supervises postgraduate students, but his day-to-day strength is building and operating real infrastructure, the kind of person who can design an architecture and then go implement it. Additionally, he explores how formal methods can be adapted towards securing infrastructure and the runtime environment.
