WAVE Project – University of Limerick

MOOC Development at UniTO

This month, we began production of our first Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) in collaboration with colleagues from the EDVANCE project at the University of Turin, Italy.

The first MOOC covers an introduction to low-code/no-code and computational thinking, core concepts of LCNC, including service independent building blocks (SIBs), workflow development, control and data flow logic, and taxonomy development. This initial course is intended to serve as an introduction to all users of the WAVE platform to introduce them to terminology and concepts.

We are currently planning subsequent MOOCs which will serve as the core training materials for all users of the WAVE platform.

Thank you to Prof. Marina Marchisio Conte and everyone from the DELTA research group at the University of Turin for their support. A special thank you also to Samuele and the rest of the EDVANCE team for their assistance in preparation and filming of the MOOCS.

About EDVANCE:

The Edvance project, the first Digital Education Hub for higher education dedicated to Advanced Digital Culture in Italy, was born as part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), Mission 4 “Education and Research.”

Led by the Polytechnic University of Milan, Edvance involves 16 of Italy’s top universities and AFAMs, which have begun collaborating with the ambitious goal of creating a unique digital ecosystem by integrating the educational offerings of all the partner institutions involved. The Edvance platform was thus born, with over 200 free online courses integrated with open badges . This offering aims to support students, teachers, and workers in developing advanced digital skills , with a particular focus on artificial intelligence, data management, digital sustainability, and transdisciplinarity .
The project focuses on producing  high-quality MOOCs and blended learning , integrating online and in-person learning to redefine the standards of digital education.
